Situated in Assam at a distance of 194 km from Guwahati, the Kaziranga National Park is a world heritage site and arguably India’s finest wildlife sanctuary. The wildlife park is famous for its one-horned rhinoceroses. In fact, two thirds of the world’s rhino population can be found here. Kaziranga is also home to the Indian tigers and is also a tiger reserve. Shillong, also called the “Scotland of the East”, the town is surrounded by rolling hills. Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya is just 55 km from Mawsynram, the world’s wettest place. Located at a distance of 60km from Shillong, Cherrapunjee or Sohra is a lovely town in Meghalaya which is a must visit place with mesmerizing waterfalls, weird caves and one of its kind living root bridge.

Itinerary
1
Day 1: MUMBAI – GUWAHATI – SHILLONG
Tempo Traveller will pick you up and drop at Mumbai airport. Arrive at Guwahati Airport,
received and proceed to Shillong (130 Kms/3 Hrs). Enroute stop at the scenic view point of
the Umiam Lake (THE LARGEST MANMADE LAKE IN NORTHEAST INDIA), later proceed to
Shillong. On reaching we check into hotel. Overnight stay at Shillong.

Day 2: SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJEE – SHILLONG
Today after breakfast we proceed to Cherrapunjee (56 Kms/2 Hrs one way). We visit Elephant
Falls, Nohkalikai Falls (the fourth highest falls in the world), Dainthlen Falls, Mawsmai Lime
Stone Cave, Seven Sister Falls, and Eco Park. Later proceed to hotel and evening at
leisure. Overnight stay at Shillong.

Day 3: SHILLONG – MAWLLYNNONG – SHILLONG
Today after breakfast proceed for Mawllynnong Village, The Cleanest Village in Asia (110 kms
/ 03 hrs drive approx). Reach Mawllynnong and explore the cleanest village in Asia. We will
also experience the wonder of the Khasi War Tribes – The Single Dekker Living Root Bridge at
Riwai Village. After exploring the village we can drive to DAWKI, a small bordering
town between India and Bangladesh (18 kms from the village), later we do Boat Ride in
Umngot River bordering India and Bangladesh, also known as crystal clear river. After
exploring for the day drives to Shillong. Overnight stay in Shillong.
MAWLYNNONG/MAWLYNNONG VILLAGE located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also
referred as ‘God’s own garden’ has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in
2003. The village known for its cleanliness is located around 90 kms from Shillong and is a
community based eco-tourism initiative. The community has made collective effort to
maintain the ambience of a clean village. The village offers picturesque natural beauty, a trek
to the Living Root Bridge at a neighboring village Riwai. The village also offers a sight of natural
balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock.

Day 4: SHILLONG – KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK
Today after breakfast we visit Don Bosco Museum and later proceed to Kaziranga (280 kms/
07 hrs drive), reach Kaziranga and check into hotel. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

Day 5: KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK
Today you will go for safaris and elephant ride inside the national park. Early morning go for
an Elephant ride (timing 5:00 AM/ 06:00 AM/ 7:00 AM – Seat allotment as per forest Dept.)
then return back to the hotel for breakfast. Post breakfast visit Orchid Park, Tea Garden and
Kohora Local Market. Later after lunch go for afternoon Jeep Safari (Timing 02:00 PM).
Evening visit Orchid Park to enjoy Assamese Traditional Bihu Dance. Overnight stay at
Kaziranga.

Day 6: KAZIRANGA – GUWAHATI
Today after breakfast later proceed to Guwahati airport (5hrs) on time for onward
destination. Upon arrival at Mumbai airport transfer to Nasik via Tempo Traveller.
